Punta Arenas and excursion to Isla Magdalena and Marta

After an endless search for a dealer who has tires for my motorbike I finally found one in a little street who has “my” Heidenau available for $154.000 (€ 200,-) – only the rear tire. Then I visited the Museo of Magallanes that contains interior of that time.

The next day a chilean group which I met in my hostel and I went to Muestra y Festival Costumbrista de Chiloé en Magallanes and got some traditional food and drink (candola = Glühwein).

The next day I woke up before the alarm was ringing (6 a.m.) in order to be ready for a cruise to the Islands Marta and Magdalena to see the sea lions and cormorants (Marta) as well as the Magellanic penguins (Magdalena). They are so sweet and I could even spent 10 times longer here. The weather was again fabulous.

When I came back I tried to purchase a ticket for the ferry to Porvenir on the next day. They were fully booked and I should come in the morning again. Let’s see…
